The son of David Clarence Litchfield and Minnie L. Smith Litchfield. James married Aileen Beale on September 27, 1941 in Norfolk, VA. They have five children: Linda, Jeannette, John, Barbara, and James. He was a member of Court House Baptist Church and served as church trustee, church deacon and church usher. He passed away at the age of 70. A kind and decent man.
