Mr. Irvin Thomas "I.T." Terrell, age 87 of Austell, passed away November 27, 2011. Mr. Terrell was a deacon and song leader at Tallapoosa Primitive Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army in the Philippines. He was a member of the Austell Lion's Club for 49 years and coached Little League baseball in Austell for many years. He served the City of Austell as a member of the volunteer Fire Department, the Civil Defense, as well as the Zoning Board. An avid fisherman, musician, and gardener, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Grover Terrell and Virgil Terrell and sister, Louise Whitlock. Surviving him are his wife of 66 years, Lodemia Smith Terrell; children, Michael Terrell of Austell, Regina and Gary Tilley of Austell, Shirley and Jack Dozier of Marietta, and Wade and Jackie Terrell of Douglasville; grandchildren, Jennifer Danner, Bridgett Barker, Jeff Dozier, Adam Tilley, and Jody Dozier; four great- grandchildren; sister, Inez Rush of Carrollton; sister-in-law and her husband, Chloie and Bud Baxter of Austell; and many nieces and nephews. His funeral service was held at Davis-Struempf Chapel on Wednesday, November 30, 2011, with Elder Lloyd Blair and Elder James Blair officiating. Interment followed at Rose Hill Cemetery, Austell.
