OBITUARY: KILLED TUESDAY IN CAR CRASH (14 Sept. 1954)

An accident on U. S. Hwy. 80, two miles west of Forney, Tuesday, has brought the county its fourth traffic fatality since Sept. 1.
Killed instantly in the head-on crash which occurred about 3:40 P.M. Tuesday, was Glenn Rasbury, 27, of Terrell.
Highway Patrolman Jerry Miller who investigated the accident, said that Rasbury's vehicle, heading east on Hwy. 80, apparently went out of control and swerved into the oncoming lane where it collided with a truck and trailer driven by V. R. Southern, 36, of Denver, Colo.
A passenger in the Rasbury car was Fred McDonald, 44, of Terrell, who was taken to a Terrell hospital where he is being treated for broken bones among other injuries. Southern was injured only slightly. The trailer which was attached to Southern's truck caught on fire from escaping gas fumes and the Forney and Mesquite fire departments were called to the scene where, after several hours, they succeeded in extinguishing the flames.
Property damage to both vehicles was between $15,000 and $20,000.
Eual Glen Rasbury was born in Terrell on July 23, 1927. He attended the public schools here and had lived most of his life here. He formerly worked for the Terrell Laundry and until the time of his death had been employed at the Rose Oil Co. He was veteran of the Korean conflict and World War II.
Funeral services will be held in the Anderson-Clayton Chapel at 2 P.M. Thursday with Rev. Dean Elliott officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Memorial Park.
He is survived by three brothers, G. T. Rasbury, Clarence Rasbury, and W. M. Rasbury, all of Dallas; and one sister, Mrs. A. E. Waddell of Dallas.
