He was born in Tifton, Ga., and had lived in Florahome for the past 22 years, coming from Miami. He was a retired supervisor for the Dade County Park Department, where he had worked for 26 years. He was a member of Florahome Full gospel Assembly.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Helen A. Butler of Florahome; mother, Ruby Irene Butler of Blountstown; daughters, Shirley A. Arant of Interlachen and Jeanette H. Schrupp of Miami; sister, Annie Conoley of Tallahassee; three granddaughters and eight great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Florahome Full Gospel Church with the Rev. Thelma Hensley and the Rev. Keith Hutchinson officiating. Burial will be in Eliam cemetery in Melrose.
