Dorothy V. Letts, Age 82, of Frederica, DE, formerly of Claymont, DE, died after a long illness on Friday, March 18, 2005 in her home.
Mrs. Letts was born July 14, 1922 in Wilmington, DE, daughter of the late Harry Eugene and Mabel Madeline Lux. She was a long time resident of Claymont.
She was a beloved mother, grandmother and friend and dedicated her life to home, family and friends. Dorothy endeared herself to everyone she met with uncommon ease and maintained long-lasting friendships. She had a quick wit and a saying for every occasion. Her family and friends will deeply miss her presence in their lives.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, William J. Letts, Jr.
She is survived by 4 sons, and 4 daughters-in-law, Vaughn A. and Kelly Letts of West Chester, PA, David A. and Connie Letts of Tampa, FL, Douglas A. and Dyanne Letts of Wyoming, DE, and William J, III and Carolyn Letts of Wilmington, DE; a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon A. Letts and Benjamin J. Klein of Frederica, MD, with whom she lived; a sister, Mary DiBiaso of Elsmere; 8 grandchildren, Michele, Jessica, Zachary, Kasey, Wesley, Will, Amy and Andrew; and 5 great grandchildren, Gabrielle, Andrew, Alexis, Katherine and Olivia.
Friends may call from 2 to 5 pm, Wednesday at the Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont. Service will be private.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Autism Society of Delaware.
