Roy White, aged 86, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2003 at Metron of Cedar Springs. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Bobby Jo Brown. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Hattie; children, John L. White of Sparta, Jane and Dick Vanderhyde of Sparta, Renee and Paul Turner of Spring Lake; four grandchildren, Brenda, Tommy, Robin and Seaman Recruit, John Turner; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Don and Audrey White of Cedar Springs, Floyd and Evonne White of Grand Rapids, Alvin and Celesine White of Sparta; sisters, Frances Johnson of Ravenna, Virginia Ruth and Clarence Reed of Cedar Springs; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 18, 11:00 a.m. at Mamrelund Lutheran Church with Rev. Leonard Dahlgren officiating. Interment Idlewild Cemetery. Friends may meet the family at the funeral home on Wednesday, 7 to 9 p.m and Thursday at the Church one hour prior to the service.
