Mrs. Frances (Granny) Myrtle Johnson, aged 88, of Ravenna, formerly of Casnovia, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2012. She was born Feb. 26, 1924 near Six Lakes, MI in Belvidere Twp. to Vern and Hazel White who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clayton (Sandy) Johnson and several brothers and sisters. Granny will be dearly missed by her family. She enjoyed baking, sewing, and doing a variety of crafts. Granny cared for her grandchildren and great grandchildren for 31 years and loved to spend individual time with each one making them feel special. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ruth Ann and Jim Arends of Ravenna; 10 grandchildren, Mike (Mary) Arends, Monica (Doug) TerHorst, Mary (Marvin) Lamach, Mark (Leah) Arends, Matt (Bobbie) Arends, Marty (Amy) Arends, Mitch (Kris) Arends, Missy (Bill) Bauer, Manda (Ryan) Smith, Melanie (Jason) Worthing; 23 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; sister, Virginia; three brothers, Donald, Floyd, Robert; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Friday 11:00 a.m. at the Throop Funeral Home in Coopersville. Burial will be in Hilton Cemetery. Visitation Thursday 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home in Coopersville. The family wishes to extend a thank you to the staff at Life Circles in Muskegon and Sanctuary at the Shores in Grand Haven for their care and support.
