Joshua Levi Nance, 19, of Joplin, Mo., passed away Thursday (Sept. 5, 2002) in his home. Graveside services will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Harristown.

Joshua was born Feb. 17, 1983, in El Paso, Texas, the son of Charles and Connie Nance. He was a graduate of Joplin High School, a member of the Class of 2001. His senior year, he served as president of VICA. He served in the U.S. Army. Prior to entering the Army, he worked for Goodman Architectural Firm and Ryan's Steakhouse. He was a cyclist and an avid crotch rocket rider.

He is survived by his mother, Connie Nance of Decatur; father, Charles Nance of Joplin; brother, Ronald D. Schum Jr. and wife Annetta of Manhattan, Kan.; sisters, Ame'e Criddle and husband Bob of Vacaville, Calif.; Charlotte Nance of Joplin; Heather Nance of Carthage, Mo.; Ceason Nance of Joplin; paternal grandmother, Allene Bone of Pineville, Mo.; maternal grandparents, Hilda and Max Born of Decatur. He was preceded in death by his brother, Keith Schum; grandfather, Keith Nance; and stepgrandfather, Jack Bone.
