SPRINGFIELD — A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at Fairfield Baptist Church in Eugene for Richard M. "Rick" Kellis of Springfield, who died Dec. 10 of cardiac arrest. He was 65.
A dedicated car cruise will be held in Springfield next summer.
He was born Oct. 27, 1946, in Eugene to James and Edith Schaaf Kellis. He married JoAnn Johnson on Dec. 7, 1968, in Eugene.
He graduated from North Eugene High School and Lane Community College. He served in the Army from 1966 to 1970. He was the owner of Rick's Spray Service until he sold the business in 2010.
Survivors include his wife; a son, James of Springfield; a brother, Gary of Eugene; a sister, Janet Smith of Sutherlin; and one grandchild.
