The following death notice appeared in the Gothenburg Times, Gothenburg, Nebraska, on April 2, 1924:
"The death of Mrs. Rebecca Hunnel occurred on Tuesday, March 25, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Chas. Frederici at North Platte.
"Rebecca S. Coberly was born January 17, 1854, in Ash Grove township, Iroquois county, Illinois, where she was married July 26, 1872, to John W. Hunnel. Fourteen children were born to them, eight of whom are living: Mrs. George Golden and Mrs. Chas. Frederici of North Platte; Mrs. Orville Sharpe of Sutherland; Mrs. Chester Jacox of Elmcreek; George and Walter Hunnel of Glennis, Wyoming; Louis Hunnel of Elmcreek and Blanchard Hunnel, who resides south of Brady.
"For over thirty years Mr. and Mrs. Hunnel were residents of Blaine precinct northeast of Gothenburg, until the former's death, which occurred November 2, 1913. For a number of years Mrs. Hunnel has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Frederici. Her remains were brought to Gothenburg and funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Methodist Episcopal church, conducted by Rev. A.V. Hunter. Burial was made in Grandview cemetery beside the remains of her husband."
