DRUMMONDS, TN - J. L. Adkins Jr., 68, tile setter, died Saturday at his home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Munford Funeral Home with burial in Poplar Grove Cemetery. He was a member of Poplar Grove United Methodist Church and Tipton Masonic Lodge. Mr. Adkins, the husband of Faye Turner Adkins for 45 years, also leaves four daughters, Susan Adkins Trotter, Leigh Adkins Chorley and Beth Adkins Jenkins, all of Drummonds, and Betty Adkins Drexler of Munford; two sons, Len Adkins of Munford and Jim Adkins of Drummonds; two sisters, Gladys McDow and Doris Billings, both of Munford; two brothers, Clifford Adkins of Burlison and Norris Adkins of Henderson, 14 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Poplar Grove United Methodist Church Living Center Fund. (Published in The Commercial Appeal on February 2, 2004)
