BURLISON - John Winford Adkins, 78, retired employee of Tipton County Road Department, died of lung disease Wednesday at Covington Manor Nursing Home. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Munford Funeral Home with burial in Helen Crigger Cemetery. Mr. Adkins, the widower of Stella Cousar Adkins, leaves five daughters, Annice Presley of Glenville, N.C., Willene Glenn of Millington, Celia Demery of Burlison, and Melva Baskin and Yvonne Bryant, both of Covington; two sons, Nathan Adkins of Memphis and Ronnie Adkins of Brighton; three sisters, Sophronia Curtis of Brighton, and Gladys McDow and Doris Billings, both of Munford; three brothers, Clifford Adkins and Norris Adkins, both of Burlison, and J.
