Esther F. Anderson, 99 of Richwood, went to be with her Lord Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Walnut Crossing Assisted Living in Marysville.

She was born September 5, 1922 in Coshocton County to the late W. S. and Ruth (Wilson) Mowery. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gerald (Jerry) T. Anderson on August 31, 1981, whom she married on December 25, 1940 in North Lewisburg, her siblings Marguerite Hanahan, Wilson Mowery, Naomi Forrest, Joseph Mowery, several brothers and sisters-in-law, and a daughter-in-law, Lois.

Esther grew up in Warsaw until moving with the family to Richwood as a teen, graduating from Richwood High School. After marriage, she assisted her husband in several business ventures in Richwood and Plain City. In Richwood, they operated the Union Theatre, Anderson's Food to Go, Richwood Car Wash and Richwood Realty, along with various other local business ventures. Simultaneously with the Richwood enterprises, they owned and operated the Rialto Theater and laundromat in Plain City.

Richwood was their only residence until Esther and Jerry built their winter home in Bokeelia, Florida in 1980. Sadly, Jerry was unable to enjoy his dream retirement home as he became ill shortly after moving into it. Thankfully, Esther had many years to spend winters in the Florida sun.

Esther's bubbly personality and energy had friends coming to her door often and she loved sharing her current crafting projects or treasures she had found with them. She often treasure-hunted in her own home. Esther loved her family and her dear friends. She was loved by her nurses and aides at Walnut Crossing and the family appreciates their loving care.

She is survived by her sons, Gary Anderson, Lago Vista, Texas; Dan (Lorie) Anderson, Richwood; Rob (Judy) Anderson, New Bern, North Carolina; a sister, Anita Davis, Richwood; six grandchildren, Jerry Anderson, Amy Hutchins, Shane (Lezley) Anderson, Joshua (Bona) Anderson, Ethan (Ashley) Anderson, Paul (Jenny) Anderson; and twelve great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Monday, November 1, 2021, at 11:00 AM at the Richwood Church of Christ with Pastor Paul Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Claibourne Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
