Clara Mae Hurley

AMORY - Clara Mae Hurley, 73, died on Thursday, June 9, 2011, at Sanctuary Hospice. She was born Feb. 2, 1938, in Monroe County to Jim and Doshie Price Allred. She married Russell Hurley in 1959. She was a seamstress, having worked in the local garment plants. She was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed sitting outside watching the squirrels and the birds and visiting with folks at the campground. A bargain hunter, she enjoyed going to yard sales and thrift stores.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today in Hatley Cemetery with Bro. Bubba Kennedy officiating. Everyone is asked to meet at 1:40 p.m. at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery. E.E. Pickle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by a daughter, Kathy Hill and her friend, Pat, of Baldwyn; sons, Lester (Brenda) Harris of Biloxi, Joey Hurley of Baldwyn and Billy Hurley of Ft. Worth, Texas; brothers, Jimmy Allred of Becker and Willie Allred of Tupelo; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Joe Hurley; two sisters; and three brothers.

Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 1:40 p.m. today at the funeral home.
