Mrs. Catherine Allene Carter passed away on Tuesday morning, August 3, 2010, at her home in Holdenville at the age of 79 years. Allene was the daughter of Clarence Jimmie Hixson & Margaret Juanita (Lupher) Hixson, born on June 3, 1931 in Arnett, Oklahoma. She was brought up in the Arnett/Sayre area by her father and stepmother, Lottie Marie (Cook) Hixson. She was married to William Richard Carter on July 23, 1949, in Oklahoma City. They lived in Bethany, Oklahoma and in Piedmont, Oklahoma for many years. Mr. Carter passed away in 1988, and Allene moved a few years later to be with her son, Jimmie, in Lakeworth, Texas, After five years, she returned to Oklahoma to be with her daughter, Jackie, in Holdenville, her home for the past seven years. Allene was a member of the Lakeworth, Texas Church of Christ. She enjoyed gardening and flowers, and riding motorcycles, and she loved taking care of her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence & Margaret Hixson and her stepmother, Lottie Hixson; her beloved husband of 39 years, William Carter; one son, Clarence Carter, in 1950; one brother, Monroe Hixson. She is survived by two daughters, C. J. Behrenbrinker of Corsicana, Texas and Jacalyn Hamilton of Holdenville, and one son, Jimmie Carter and wife Vanessa, of Benbrook, Texas; eight grandchildren: Matthew Hamilton (Elaine) of Atwood, Chad Hamilton of Holdenville, Raelina Miller (Joe) of Corsicana, Texas, Aaron Behrenbrinker of Yale, Oklahoma, Nathan Hunter, Ethan Hunter, Jacob Carter and Levi Carter, all of Benbrook, Texas; seven great-grandchildren; one brother Eldon Hixson (Pat) Shallow Water, Texas; various other relatives and friends. Allene was laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery in Oklahoma City following funeral services on Friday, August 6, 10:00 a.m. at Resurrection Cemetery Chapel. John Hooper was the officiating minister. Pallbearers were Chad Hamilton, Nathan Hunter, Ethan Hunter, Levi Carter, Aaron Behrenbrinker, Jacob Carter. Honorary pallbearers were Matthew Hamilton and Joe Miller.
