Our beloved husband, father, brother, and grandpa, Lex Worthen Jackson, passed away August 3, 1993 in St. George, Utah of cardiac arrest.
He was born December 8, 1927 in Fremont, Utah to Harvey and Pansy Jackson. He married Hattie Finster in the Manti Temple. Hattie passed away May 30, 1978. Lex married Virginia Sands on December 29, 1978 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Lex was always an active member of the LDS Church. He was called to serve in many positions, first counselor in the bishopric, the high council, a two year mission at the Salt Lake Visitors Center, and a temple worker at the Jordan River Temple.
Lex had a way with children and they all loved him. He loved to work with wood and made many a treasure for his grandkids.
Lex is survived by his wife, Virginia; children, Mrs. Jim (Linda) Silver; Peggy Boe; Mrs. Walt (Ann) Layton; Jay Kimball and wife, Carol; Mrs. Pete (Gail) Witkamp; Mrs. Jim (Diane) Whiteley; 27 grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Earl, Bernes, Ireta, Beatrice, Chloanelle, all Salt Lake City; Viola, Fremont; Eileen, Roosevelt. He was preceded in death by brothers, Ernest and Ted.
Funeral services will be Mon., August 9th, at 12 noon in the Midvalley 6th Ward (700 East 7500 So.) Friends may call Sun. 6-8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary (255 So. 200 East) and Mon. 10:45-11:45 a.m. at the ward. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates (6500 So. Redwood Rd.)
