Papa always said: "If I ever get the chance to die, I'll take it!" On Monday, May 19, 2008, Earl Clement Jackson did just that. After a short illness he passed away, holding the hand of his sweetheart of 62 years. He resided at 4433 South Wander Lane (2370 East) in Holladay, Utah at the time of his death.

Born May 15, 1926 in Roosevelt, Utah to Harvey E. Jackson and Pansey Nickle.

Earl was raised in Fremont and later served in the army as a paratrooper. While in Fort Benning, Georgia, he met the love of his life Sylvia Irene Casteel. They were married in the Manti Temple on March 15, 1946.

Earl spent his life in the service of the LDS Church. For the past 30 years he has cherished his calling as an ordinance worker and a sealer in the Salt Lake Temple.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Earnest, Lex, Ted and sister, Cholanelle. Survived by his beloved wife, Sylvia; siblings, Ireta (Kurt) Gatzemeier, Bernes (Nona Bee) Jackson, Beatrice White, Viola (Duane) Buchanan, and Eilene (Sheldon) Taylor; children, Clayne (Annette) Jackson, Rebecca (Steve) Neslen, Clem (Anne) Jackson, Benjamin Jackson, Alan (Debbie) Jackson, Brent (Judy) Jackson and Gloria Jackson. He also leaves behind 41 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 23, 2008 at noon in the Holladay Tenth Ward Chapel, 4601 South (Murray Holladay Road) 2565 East (Chapel Street) A viewing will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2008 from 6-8 p.m. at the Ward Chapel, and again from 10-12:00 prior to the services.
Interment will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2008 in the Fremont City Cemetery in Fremont, Utah.
Time: when we get there probably about noon.
