Carlisle, Pa., Jan 3 - It was learned here to-day that W.E. Shughart, who, it was reported, committed suicide in Martin's hotel in Baltimore, was W. Earl Shughart, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Shughart, North Middleton Township. The young man went to Baltimore a week ago, it is said, to secure employment. No reason is assigned for committing suicide as he was in the best of spirits and health, according to report and was a very estimable young man. Two postal cards he wrote made no reference to anything that would throw light on his health. Friends here believe he blew out the gas in his room by mistake. Earl Shughart was about 22 years of age and worked on his father's farm. He is survived by his parents and two brothers.
