Born Phyllis D'Onofrio in Piscataway, N.J., she was brought to Brooklyn as a child and graduated from Lincoln High School. She moved to Dongan Hills in 1963; New Port Richey, Fla., in 1976, and to Grant City in 2005.
She was a seamstress in Manhattan's Garment District before she was married. A homemaker, she enjoyed raising her children and baking.
Her husband of 61 years, Joseph, died in 2007, and her daughter, Victoria Gilson, died in 1999.
Surviving are her sons, Martin, Joseph, Michael and Robert; a daughter, Joan Fastaia; a brother, Henry D'Onofrio; four grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.
