Remember was a man much respected and honored in the community in which he lived. He was one of the 28 men raised in Rehoboth, MA in 1780 to reinforce the Continental Army for six months, marching to West Point.
Remember enlisted in the Lexington scare in Capt. Jabez Ellis's Company and served 9 days. He enlisted a second time as private in Capt. Ide's Company, Col. Daggett's Regiment in the Rhode Island Alarm on Dec. 8, 1776 and served 6 days. He enlisted a third time as private in Capt. Wilmarth's Company, Col. Hathaway's Regiment on March 4, 1779 and served one month at Howland's Ferry.
He enlisted a fourth time as private in Samuel Head's Company, Col. Jacob's Regiment in the Rhode Island Alarm of Oct. 6, 1779 serving 2 months and 4 days.
He enlisted a fifth time as private in Capt. Simeon Collis' Company, Col. Dean's Regiment in the Rhode Island Alarm on March 6, 1781 and served 10 days.

Additional information found on Remember Carpenter: Remember was about five feet eight inches tall when he was 18 years of age with a light complexion, as appears in the descriptive list of men raised for six months to reinforce the Continental Army on June 5, 1780. He marched to West Point and served six months and thirteen days.
