Mr. John C. Oliver, age 63, of Ratliff, passed away Friday, December 2, 2011 in Lumberton. Mr. Oliver was born August 21, 1948 in Houston County, Texas and had lived in Ratcliff for most of his lifetime. He was a retired truck driver and a member of the Mt. Vernon Church.
Survivors include children, Jennifer Oliver and Bobby Licht of Lumberton, Melissa Oliver of Lufkin, Douglas Oliver and wife, Wendi of Sherwood, Oregon, Mandi Whitaker and husband, Mark of Slidell, Louisiana; grandchildren, Andrew and Blake Bryan of Broaddus, Sydney Oliver of Onalaska, Austin Poor of Sherwood, Oregon, Ethan and Conner Oliver of Sherwood, Oregon, Levi Whitaker of Slidell, Louisiana; several step children and step grandchildren; sister, Helen Meece and husband, Duane of Spring; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Preceded in death by wife, Joan Oliver and parents, Benjamin Harrison and Leila Wallace Oliver.
Funeral services for Mr. John C. Oliver will be held Thursday, December 8, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Bro. Josh Mills officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Family will receive friends beginning Thursday morning.
