"Thomas H. Allen, 67, of Phillipsburg, passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at the Brakeley Park Center, Lopatcong Township. He was born in Phillipsburg on October 6, 1942 to the late Edward and Elsie Brisch Allen.
Thomas was a Fireman Engineer in Stationary Boilers, last working at Foster-Wheeler Corp.
He was a 1961 graduate of Phillipsburg Highs School, member of the First Baptist Church in Lopatcong Township and was a volunteer with the Phillipsburg Emergency Squad. He was inducted into the Phillipsburg High School Football Hall of Fame and he loved to fish.
He was survived by his wife of 49 ½ years, Patsy L. Dickey Allen; a son, Thomas Allen II and his wife Celia of Florham Park, NJ; two daughters, Christine Jewett and her husband Walter of Seeley Lake, MT, and Lorraine Richards and her husband, Richard of Denver, CO; a brother, V. Edward Allen; sisters Margaret Herb and Myrna Gardner; and three grandchildren Derek Allen, Kyle and Elizabeth Richards. He was predeceased by a brother, Rev Russell T. Allen.
Services will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 11am at the Rupell Funeral Home 465 Memorial Pkwy, Phillipsburg, NJ 08865. Friends may call from 10am until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Harmony Township, NJ."
