Danny Lee "Woodstock" Bennett, Sr., 59, Ripley, died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, at Tippah County Hospital in Ripley. He was born on July 27, 1952 to Lee Earl and Mavis Sanderson Bennett in Gainesville, Texas. He was a truck driver for Big M Trucking with 34 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Ripley with Dr. Rex Yancey officiating. Burial will follow in Falkner Cemetery in Falkner. McBride Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Sherry LaBarreare Bennett of Ripley; two sons, Lee Bennett (Sondra) and Justin Bennett, both of Ripley; one brother, Randy Bennett (Charlotte) of Ripley, one half sister, Joann Wooley (Donnie) of Southaven; two grandchildren, Kye and Tara Lea Bennett, both of Ripley. He was preceded in death by his parents. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Black, Lewis Wilbanks, Pat Goolsby, Joey Bryant, Ron Sanderson and Patrick Shelton. Honorary pallbearers are Kye Bennett, Sean Atkins, Ricky LaBarreare and his trucking buddies. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and Tuesday from 7 to 9 a.m. at the funeral home; then 10 a.m. until service time at First Baptist Church.
