ELIZABETH R. ‘BETTY' McALLISTER, 84 of Kennedyville, MD, died November 29, 2011 in Union Hospital, Elkton, MD.

Betty was born on December 1, 1926, daughter of the late Earl Scott and Elizabeth Geiger Riley. She had lived in Collingdale and King of Prussia, PA before moving to Kent County in 1966. She had worked for Leeds Travelware and a bookkeeper for numerous clients. She also owned and operated Betty's Florist and Antiques.

She was a member of Olivet United Methodist Church where she was active as a Lay Speaker, the Evangelical Chairperson and the Women's Aglow. Betty was past president to the Kent & Queen Anne's County Women's Republican Club and member of the DAR.

Mrs. McAllister was preceded in death by her husband of 17 years Richard McAllister in 1983 and 2 brothers, William and Earl Riley.

She is survived by her step-son Peter McAllister of Washington State, 2 nieces, Lorraine Schantz of Utah and Pamela Foley of York, PA, and a nephew William Riley of Philadelphia, PA.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 2 at 12 noon in Olivet United Methodist Church, Galena, MD, where friends may call after 11am. Burial in Galena Cemetery.
