John Albert, who attempted to kill himself at the County Hospital on Sunday last by stabbing himself twice in the abdomen with a pocket knife, has since died of his injuries. He was a native of Pennsylvania, 54 years of age, a molder by trade, and has a sister, Mrs Forbes, who resides at Peoria, IL. John S. H. Albert, age 28 years, was enrolled by Captain Michael O'Brien at San Francisco, California, November 14 and mustered-in as private of Captain Eugene S. Gibbs's Company E (New), 2nd California Infantry, by Captain Jackson November 15, 1864. Private Albert was discharged, with his company, at Presidio of San Francisco, May 10, 1866.
