Jacob Judson Faw (was he really Jacob Judson Faw? or just Jacob Faw?) was the fifth of seven known children of John Randolph Faw (1792-1875) and Nancy Calloway Faw (1796-1876), who married c1814 at presumably Ashe County, North Carolina.

Jacob married Martha J. Harper (1836-1900) on 03 Apr 1858 at Ashe County, North Carolina. Jacob and Martha were the parents of eleven known children, namely:

1. Alvis Clyde Faw (1857-1884)
2. Columbus Franklin Faw (1861-1930)
3. Jacob Lloyd Faw (1862-1927)
4. Malinda Faw Woodruff (1864-1920)
5. Gorden Faw (1866-1893)
6. Tebitha Lebeth Faw Woodruff (1868-1923)
7. Matilda Elizabeth Faw Miller (1869-1941)
8. Rosa Taletha Faw (1871-1875)
9. Celia F. Faw Miller (1874-1921)
10. Maggie May Faw Goodman (1875-1935)
11. Kilbey Francis Faw (1877-1947)

In 1860 Jacob (a farmer), Martha and son Alvis were living at North Fork, Ashe County, North Carolina. In 1870 the parents along with children: Alvis, Columbus, Loyd, Malinda, Gordon, Telitha (Tabitha?) and Telitha were living at Jefferson Township, Ashe County, North Carolina. Lila Harper (age 68, widowed mother of Martha) was living with them. In 1880 the parents and children: Columbus, Loyd, Malinda, Gordon, Lebeth, Talitha, Celia, Maggie and Kilbey, along with Lila Harper (age 76) were living at Pine Swamp, Ashe County, North Carolina. In 1900 the widower Jacob was living alone at Obids, Ashe County, north Carolina.
