Leslie L. Chapman, 57, died at 5:45 pm yesterday at St. Mary's Hospital. He had been a patient at the hospital since Dec. 24.
Mr. Chapman, long active in civic organizations, was employed by the State of Missouri in the Jefferson Building. He previously owned and operated the Chapman Transfer and Moving Co.
He was born at Bonnots Mill, Feb. 22, 1899, the son of Robert F. and Hattie Biollit Chapman. He was married Aug. 22, 1921, to Miss Cathryn Schauffer, at California, Mo. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother, Mrs. Hattie Chapman; one son, William; two daughters, Mrs. Charles Prenger and Miss Betty Lou Chapman; three brothers, Russell, Robert and Carl; and three sisters, Mrs. Edwin Bode, Mrs. Victor Agee and Mrs. W.F. Knox Jr.
Mr. Chapman was a member of the Methodist Church, the Elks Club and the American Legion. He was a veteran of World War I.
