AUDITOR-ELECT OF CUMBERLAND DIES

Carlisle, Dec. 3. - The funeral of Edwin P. Burgett, former county auditor and who was again elected to that office at the November election, died Saturday at the home of his father-in-law, James Franciscus, 48 South Wilson street (sic). The funeral will be held from the latter's home to-morrow afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. Death occurred suddenly, though he had been in failing health since July. He was 56 years old.

Mr. Burgett was for many years a trucker and a Carlisle market attendant and was well known throughout the county. He held offices of township clerk and town auditor and was first elected county auditor twenty years ago. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Carlisle.

Mr. Burgett is survived by his wife, three brothers, Martin L., Middlesex; James, near Carlisle; Curtis Burgett, Greason, and two sisters, Mrs. James Heiser, Huntsdale, and Mrs. John Lehman, McAllister.
