Chess has lost a devoted and most promising player in Leo Gunsberg (sic), who died lately of appendicitis. The laurels he had already won were such as showed that had life been spared he would ere long have occupied a position in chess of which any young aspirant might well be proud. He was a valued member of the Progressive Chess Club. of Newark, N. J., and also of the Cosmopolitan Chess Club, of New York.
