Joel Switzer was the son of Charles and Rebbeca (Tonsley) Switzer. His death certificate lists his wife with the same name Rebbeca and spelled the same. His occupation was listed as a farmer. He may have retired from teaching and began farming. This was a common practice at that time.
Joel was murdered on April 21, 1921 and died as a result of a .32 caliber bullet wound to the head. His death certificate registration number is 685. Coroner Carl H. Kent tended to the remains. Joel was buried by Undertakers The Sweeny Brothers of Akron.
THANKS TO Scot Trodick, Joel Switzer's great, great grandson for supplying a copy of Joel's Death Certificate to me with the above information.
