Daniel Sears was born before 1778 Rowan County North Carolina to Johannes Zaher (Sears) and Barbara (Miller) Zaher or Sears. His age is estimated from Census 1810 and 1820 census.

We Know he married Elizabeth Betsy Martin daughter of Asa Martin because Daniel Sears sold slaves which came to him through marriage to Betsy Martin daughter of Asa and Elizabeth in Rowan County, North Carolina

It appears Betsy died before 1820 census since no female is listed.
In the 1810 Census Daniel and his wife are listed with 7 other people.. The oldest of these listed persons could be household helpers instead of children because we find no records of them after this census and Daniel seems like born about 1775 and would be young to have some of these children.

Between 1828 and 1830 all but Lucinda Sears now Lucinda Harmon left for other parts of Indiana and then various counties of Illinois. The They left after 1828 because Daniel is in a tax this years. Daniel was also listed in Harrison County, Indiana tax of 1824.

1840 Daniel and his son Jacob have moved to Edgar Illinois and Daniel is alone on the census. Daniel's son Adam gets married in Crawford County, Illinois in 1841 and serves in the Civil War.He was born 1812 in Bourbon County, Kentucky. He marries Susan Higgins born 1818 in Kentucky and they have the following children: 1. Fanny C born 1841 in Illinois 2. James H born 1842 in Illinois 3. George A born 1844 in Illnois and 4. Julia A born 1848 in Illinois. Many of this family including Adam and Susan are buried at Sears Cemetery in Honey Creek, Crawford, Illinois.

Daniel Sears born 1770-1780 is listed as dying on 18 Apr 1859 in the West but where this date came from and exactly where he died has never been found nor his 1850 census.

Lucinda (Lucy) Sears was born about 1800 in Bourbon County, Kentucky to Daniel Sears and his wife Betsy Martin daughter of Asa Martin and Elizabeth.. Daniel and Betsy Martin moved from Bourbon County, Kentucky to Harrison County between 1810 and 1820 with his brother John and Jacob. They settled in the township of Morgan. Here Lucinda met and married her husband James M Harmon. Daniel is listed as her father and he gave his permission for the marriage thru his proxy Michael Sappenfield Jr. on 22 Dec 1821. Lucinda married James in a double wedding with her sister Mary Magdalene Sears and her husband John Sappenfield on 24 Dec 1821.

Lucinda was a charter member of Bethel Meeting house Church in Bradford, Indiana. She is listed under the name Lucy Harmin on the first women's list 5 Jul 1833. This was a Union Church which was combination of Dunkards, German Baptists and New lights. She was also listed in the Church rolls 1 Feb 1840 and 3 Jun 1854. Lucinda died between this last record 1854 and 1860.
Her Husband James William Harmon died between Jan 1840 and the recording of his the following will on 18 July 1840.
