He was the third of six children; his siblings were: Edna Fern (1890-1974), Gladys Mae (1893-1994, yes she lived to 101 years!), Forest Gale (1899-1998, she made 98 years!), Garnet Leota (1901-1923) and Carl Wesley Emfield (1907-1978).
Emmett married Violet Venette Schneider (1902-1992) on 27 Jul 1936 in Angola, Steuben County, Indiana. They had no children. Both are buried in the Maplewood Cemetery in Toledo, Ohio.
