Benton, Ill. —

Glenda Irene Bitner, 83, of Macon, formerly of Mesa, Ariz. passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011.

A service to celebrate Glenda's life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home, Decatur. Visitation will be from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with an Eastern Star service at 9:45 a.m. Burial will be 2 p.m. Friday at Maple Hill Cemetery, Sesser.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Eastern Star Home, Macon, IL.

Mrs. Bitner was born on May 29, 1928, in Assumption, the daughter of Glen R. and Pearl (Coulter) Hunt.

She was an administrative assistant for Caterpillar Co. from 1955-1974. Glenda joined the Order of the Eastern Star in 1954 where she served as Worthy Matron in 1969. She was Past President of the Caterpillar Women's Club. She enjoyed genealogy, organizing her class reunions and her retirement years in Mesa, Ariz.

Glenda married Charles Robert Fornear in 1946. He preceded her in death on April 30, 1973. She later married Neil Bitner in 1973. He preceded her in death on Nov. 16, 2003.

Surviving are her children, Jim (Jenny) Fornear of Thousand Oaks, Calif., and Jeanne (Kenny) Puckett of Decatur; grandchildren, Tami (J.D.) Tomlinson of Gainesville, Fla., Lori Manning of Argenta, and Danny Manning of Argenta; great-grandchildren, John David Tomlinson of Gainesville, Fla., Taylor Tomlinson of Gainesville, Fla., Kyle Manning of Argenta and Meggan Manning of Argenta.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and one infant brother: Glen Hunt.
