Philetus was the husband of Flora Belle Chancellor. He and his wife resided in Union Center Illinois. In the 1880's the first store found on record in Union Center was that of P. W. Edwards which he started in 1876. Mr. Edwards was appointed Post Master in 1881. After Mr. Edwards died his wife sold the store to Frank Jennings, who moved it across the road and a little south on the northeast corner of the cross roads. ..
