John William Ott, 85, of Chattanooga, TN passed away Saturday, November 26, 2011.

A native of Halltown, WV, he has been a resident of the Chattanooga, TN area for the past 60 years and was a member and Deacon of Brainerd Presbyterian Church.

He was also retired from Whitaker Transportation as vice president of administration and was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy.

He was the son of the late Bernard and Cora Lee Fielding Ott and was preceded in death by his son, Darren Ott.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Ott; four daughters, Donna Jahn, Houston, TX, Debbie Kring, Nashville, TN, Dale Jones, Apopka, FL, and Dannah Anderson, Haleyville, AL; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Roundtree, Mesa, AZ; brother, Wallace Ott, Halltown, WV.

Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday at Brainerd Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Ronald Ragon and the Rev. Jonathan Schwartz officiating.

Interment with full military honors will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the church on Thursday.

Arrangements are by the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway, Chattanooga, TN.
