Mary Jane Dillard Jacobs, daughter of James Henry and Margaret Hunter Park Dillard is the granddaughter of James Dillard, Revolutionary war hero and his second wife Mary Puckett Dillard.

Mary Jane Dillard was the daughter of Margaret and Dr. John H. Dillard. Granddaughter of Capt. James Dillard and niece to Samuel Dillard (my gggrandfather).

Mary Jane married William P. Jacobs and was the mother of Thornwell Jacobs author of "My People" and many other books. She was also the mother of James Ferdinand, Florence Lee, John Dillard and William States Jacobs who became a Texas State Senator.
