Obit for her half sister Mary Magdalen Burkey

Mrs. Mary Tice
Sadness filled the hearts of many Wednesday evening when it was learned that Mrs. Mary Tice, one of Mt. Sterling's oldest and hightly esteemed ladies, had passed away. Mrs. Tice had been seriously ill but a few days and her death came rather suddenly.

Mrs. Mary Magdalen Tice was born December 25, 1845, and had she lived to celebrate her birthday this year would have been aged 88 years. She was born in Coshocton, Ohio. She leaves to mourn her passing two daughters, Miss Laura, at home, and Mrs. Florence Bradney of Timewell, and a son, Arthur Tice of Beardstown, A nephew, Clarence Tice, who entered the home when a young child, was raised by her and given the same love as one of her children, also survives. Besides other near relatives and many friends. The husband, James P. Tice, passed away, a number of years ago.

Funeral services in charge of Rev. R. L. Schwab, will be held this, Friday, afternoon at two o'clock at the home, relatives and close friends invited, and burial will be made in the City cemetery. (Mt. Sterling, Brown County, Illinois)
