Miss Carrie Burkey Dies:
Buried at South Side Sunday

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, in the Versailles Christian Church, for Miss Carrie Burkey, of Jacksonville, formerly of Clayton, Services were held at 3:30 in the South Side Cemetery here, in charge of the Rev. Lewis from Versailles.

Miss Burkey, who has lived at the Christian home in Jacksonville since 1937, fell and fractured her collar bone and hip last Tuesday. She passed away Friday at the age of 80 years, nine months and 20 days. She was born in Brown County and move to Clayton many years ago with a sister, Miss Barbara. Barbara passed away in 1922 and another sister died last month.

The deceased was the last of a large family and came to Clayton when a young girl. She had enjoyed good health up until last Tuesday. She was a member of the Clayton Chirstian Church. and also of the Loyal Women's class of the Christian Sunday School.
