James H. Allen was a son of Isaac Milton Allen (1834-1913) and Nancy Katherine Dye (1834- ). Isaac was a son of Joseph Allen (1800-1856) and Nancy Harris (aft 1795-aft1880).
Nancy Katherine Dye was a daughter of Fauntleroy R. Dye (1792-1870) and Jenney Elizabeth Durham (1792- ). Fauntleroy Dye is buried in Perryville Cemetery, Perryville, Kentucky.

Federal Census, 1910 LaRue County. Family #60, Buffalo Mag. Distr. James H. Allen was 52 and his wife, Celia, was 56. The only child living with them in 1910 is Liddie E. (Lydia), age 17 years. Perhaps all the other children had left home by then. There was an adopted son living with them: Herman Underwood, age 11 years.

James H. Allen died at age 65 in LaRue County, Kentucky. Ky Vital Stats: vol 056, DC #27800, death vol 1922.
