Deceased Name: Robert Dasher Rahn , Sr.
RINCON - Robert Dasher Rahn, Sr., 90, died Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Savannah Specialty Center.

The Effingham County native was born May 7, 1920 to the late Claudie Leroy Rahn and Olive Arabella Rahn.

He served in the U.S. Navy (Armed Guard) during WWII and was a member of Oak Grove Church of Christ, the American Legion Post #209, and the GA Salzburger Society.

He was a retired Conductor with Amtrak and also worked for S.A.L. Railroad. He was a member of the United Transportation Union and the Golden Railroaders.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Louise Downing Rahn; and 7 siblings.

Survivors include his children, Robert D. "Bobby" Rahn, Jr. (Dianne) of Fleming Island, FL, Cindy Rahn of Rincon, and Don Rahn of St. Augustine, FL; 6 grandchildren, Robert D. Rahn, III, Samuel Rahn, Robert Rahn, Elizebeth Hargis (Trey), Ashland and Savannah Rahn; 2 great-grandchildren, Andrew Hargis and Angelina Rahn; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Oak Grove Church of Christ with Minister Don Davis officiating.

Mr. Rahn will lie in state from 9 a.m.

Interment will be in Springfield Cemetery Annex.
