SANFORD NATIVE ACCIDENT VICTIM

Funeral services were held Monday for Robert P. Bernier, 29, of 15 Grace Avenue, Shrewsbury, MA, who died Friday of injuries resulting from a motorcycle-truck collision.

Bernier was leaving his work at Norton Co., where he had been employed for the past six years as a formulator-calculator in the diamond products division when the accident occurred. He was a graduate of Sanford High School, received a degree in business administration from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, and served four years as a staff sergeant in the Air Force.

He was a member of St. Anne's Parrish, Shrewsbury, and the Grafton Bowling League.

Besides his widow, Sharon Phifield Bernier, he leaves a daughter, Shannon M. Bernier of Shrewsbury; his parents, Raymond and Hope Knox Bernier of Sanford; five brothers, Raymond, with the Air Force in the Philippines, Richard, with the Air Force in Florida, Donald, with the Air Force in Delaware, Michael and Mark of Sanford; two sister, Mrs. Dorrance (Donna) Jones of Millbury, MA, and Mrs. Frank (Linda) Chesley of Sanford.

A funeral Mass took place at St. Anne's Church with burial in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury. Caswell-King Funeral Home, 474 Grave Street, Shrewsbury, was in charge of arrangements.
