Brenda Lou Cooksey, Born on March 31, 1953 to the late Arthur & Alma Cooksey. She grew up in the Mars Hill neighborhood, and graduated from Ben Davis HS in 1971, moving to the Tuxedo Park neighborhood.
She worked for Indiana Bell currently SBC for 31 plus years as a Directory Assistant Operator and also a service clerk in coin operations. She was active in the Communication Works of America.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 1, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with Services Monday, June 2, at 12:00 p.m. At Shirley Brothers Irving Hill Chapel 5377 E. Washington St. Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include her husband, Chris L. Schuerman, friend, Debbie Dunning, aunt, Ina Norman, cousin, Sheila Darsiel. Her husband, Lonnie Cooksey, and her twin infant sister, Linda Sue Cooksey who died of Spinal Meningitis preceded her in death.
