Elmer J. Reindl, age 83, a resident of St. Mary's Home of Manitowoc, died Saturday morning, July 1, 2006, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 6, at St. Francis of Assisi-Waldo Boulevard site. The Rev. Gerald Foley will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be accorded by Otto-Oas VFW Post No. 659. Elmer was born April 16, 1923, in Neva, Langlade County, son of the late Frank and Katherine Zipperer Reindl. He grew up in Manitowoc County and attended St. Michael Catholic grade school in Whitelaw. He was a U.S. World War II Army Air Corps veteran serving in the 8th Air Force, 401st Bomb Squad from Feb. 18, 1943, until Oct. 2, 1945. On June 5, 1946, Elmer was married to the former Mary H. Kopidlansky at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Maple Grove. The Rev. E.A. Radey officiated. Mary preceded Elmer in death on May 9, 1999. Elmer worked for the Weyerhaeuser Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1972. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, WI Czechs and Otto-Oas VFW Post No. 659 of Manitowoc, and he enjoyed traveling and collecting antiques. Survivors include: three sons and daughters-in-law: Robert (Sharon) Reindl of Whitelaw; Steve (Laurie) Reindl of Williston, S.C.; Joseph (Peggy) Reindl of Two Rivers; six daughters and five sons-in-law: Diann (Gary) Guth of West Allis; Sharon (Robert) Hendrickson of Sussex; Mary Catherine Reindl of Wauwatosa; Cindy (Gary) Kubis of Milwaukee; Debra (Mark) Erdmann of Manitowoc; Anne (Paul) Bender of West Allis; 30 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Lola Miller of Manitowoc; Dorothy Kronforst of Mishicot; four brothers-in-law and five sisters-in-law: Victor (Diane) Kopidlansky of Fort Myers, Fla.; Paul Kopidlansky of Whitelaw; Mary Kopidlansky of Manitowoc; Margaret (Isadore) Brandl of Manitowoc; Monica Geiger of Brillion; Judy (Leonard) Denor of Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Leonard Reindl and Bernard Reindl; one sister: Gladys Lemberger; eight brothers-in-law: John Miller, Paul Kronforst, Joe Lemberger, Frank Kopidlansky, Albert Kopidlansky Jr., Edward Kopidlansky, Norbert Geiger and Ray Chasensky; six sisters-in-law: Pearl Reindl, Delores Reindl, Marge Kopidlansky, Ann Chasensky, Patricia Kopidlansky and Joan Kopidlansky. Relatives and friends may call at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and on Thursday at the church from 10-11 a.m. There will be a parish prayer service at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, led by Deacon Alan Boeldt.
