Scott L. Clifford Sr., 73, of Havana, passed away at 4:52 a.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2009 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born November 7, 1935 in Cuba, IL to Samuel and Mabel (Jones) Clifford. He married Nancy Harroun on April 29, 2000.
Mr. Clifford is survived by his wife Nancy of Havana, three daughters, Nan (Randy) Fornoff of Havana, Laura (Steve) High of Hartford City, IN and Lydia Chambers of Havana. Also surviving are ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, three step-sons, one step-daughter, seven step-grandchildren and one brother, Lloyd Clifford of Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Scott Clifford Jr., and one grandson Ryan Clifford.
Mr. Clifford was member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Havana. He was a graduate of Western Illinois University, a former school teacher and had owned Clifford Furniture Store in Lewistown.
Funeral services will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Havana on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana. Rev. Martin W. Liebmann Jr. will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services and burial will be held at a later date.
