Alfred Theobald Ludwig Glaubitz was the oldest of eight children born to Louis and Alvina (nee Mager) Glaubitz. He was born in Jauer, Province of Silesia, Germany and arrived in the U.S.A. on May 2, 1859 along with his mother. His father had already immigrated in the fall of 1857.
Alfred married Minnie Schultz on September 11, 1880 in Milwaukee, WI. They had two surviving daughters: Alice and Hildegarde. Two other daughters, Selma and Elsa, died in infancy.
