Mr. Byrne was born Sept. 19, 1935, in White Plains, NY, son of the late Thomas R. and Ruth (Eberhart) Byrne. He received his bachelor's degree from Manhattan College and his master's degree in business from Michigan University. He was a long-time financial executive, ending his career as financial officer for C&C Awards Inc. of Danbury. He had served as a mentor at Rochambeau Middle School, and was an active communicant of Sacred Heart Church, where he served as a Eucharistic minister. Formerly of Irvington, N.Y., he was a resident of Heritage Village for 14 years.
Besides his devoted wife of 41 years, he leaves his loving son, Richard Condon and his wife, Phyl, of New Canaan; two grandchildren, Tim and Abby Condon of New Canaan; two brothers, Thomas Byrne of Bethesda, Md., and David Byrne of Plano, Texas; and two sisters, Marie Byrne and Ann Byrne, both of White Plains, N.Y. He was predeceased by two brothers and three sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 28, at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main Street South, Southbury. Burial in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Tarrytown, N.Y. Calling hours are 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 27, in the daily chapel of the church. Arrangements by Carpino Funeral Home, 750 Main Street South, Southbury.
