Alice E. Allen, 86, of rural Huntington, died at 12:42 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011, at Bluffton Regional Medical Center in Bluffton.
Mrs. Allen was born on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 1925, in Huntington, to Royal Simon and Mary Kline Simon. She married George C. Allen March 11, 1945, in Huntington County; he preceded her in death March 16, 2005.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Sue (Ron) Horrell of Huntington; four sons, Tom L. Allen of Hicksville, Ohio, John C. (Linda) Allen of Warren, Steven C. Allen of Huntington, and David L. Allen of Geneva, Ill.; and 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Allen was also preceded in death by a sister, Hildreth Law, and three brothers, Clyde Simon, Rex Simon, and Roy Simon.
Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 27, and from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28, at the Glancy-H. Brown and Son Funeral Home, 203 N. Matilda St., Warren. An Eastern Star service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Masonic Cemetery in Warren.
