Jack Leo Brummond, 84, of Sioux City, Iowa and formerly of South Sioux City, Nebraska died Wednesday August 10, 1994, at a Sioux City, Iowa nursing home after a brief illness.

Services were Tuesday at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City, Nebraska with the Rev. Dr. Ivan D. Richardson, pastor of St. Paul United Methodist church officiating. Burial was in Rosehill Cemetery, Pender, Nebraska. Harty McNally Post #175 conducted military services.

Jack was born August 23, 1909, at Ft. Crook, Nebraska, the son of Julius and Grace Brummond. He was a Veteran of World War II where he served in the Pacific Theater. He retired from Swift Packing Company where he had been employed many years.

Jack married Nellie E. Leonard in 1936, and she died in 1947. He later married Margie E. Potter in 1961. she died in 1975. He had formerly lived in South Sioux City, Nebraska moving to Sioux City, Iowa in 1976 to live with his son.

Jack was a charter member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the American Legion Cownie Church Post 307 of South Sioux City, Nebraska and a member of the American Legion Harty McNally Post #175 of Jackson, Nebraska.

Survivors are: sons, Jim and Barbara Brummond of Sioux City, Iowa, Bill and Bev Brummond of South Sioux City, Nebraska, Robert and Norda Brummond of Nolanville, Texas and Eugene Leonard of Sioux City, Iowa; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Blair of Sioux City, Iowa.

Pallbearers were Jerry and Pat Brummond, Randy Miller, Scott Barber, Keith Leighty and Bennie Bolton.
