Hattie (Dillard) Sweatt, 72, of 714 Ridge Ave., Ford City died Sunday, April 17, 2005 at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, East Franklin Township.

She was born July 22, 1923 in Kittanning to Joseph C. and Dora L. (Stevenson) Dillard.

Mrs. Sweatt was a housewife.

She was a member of Second Baptist Church of Ford City.

She was also a member of the Eastern Star.

She was a lifelong resident of the community.

Survivors include her husband, R.B. Sweatt; four sons, Robert E. Sweatt of Tammy, Calif., Terry E. Sweatt and George R. Sweatt, both of Ford City and Alan G. Sweatt of Cleveland; two daughters, Patricia Bobo and husband Charles of Ypsilanti, Mich. and Joyce D. Sweatt of Los Angeles; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, James Dillard of Ford City; and two sisters, Shirley Harvey and Odessa Maria Sheffey, both of Pittsburgh.

She was preceded in death by one son, Chester J. Sweatt; one daughter, Elaine N. Sweatt; one brother, Leslie C. Dillard; and three sisters, Gladys Rosemond, Ethel Shavers and Marybell Jenkins.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Mantini Funeral Home, Inc., 701 Sixth Ave., Ford City. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Second Baptist Church, Ford City with her pastor, the Rev. Kent Commodore, officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, East Franklin Township.
