GRIDLEY ~ Isaac E. Travis, 81, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Wesley Dircks in Pekin, Monday at 3 p.m. He had lived there the past 2 1/2 years.

His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Froelich Memorial Home, the Rev. Lester Hill officiating. Burial will be in Chenoa Cemetery.

Visitation begins at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

He was born Feb. 4, 1880, in Fairbury, the son of Jerimiah M. and Elizabeth P. DeFord Travis. He married Ella Gertrude Burnham on Jan. 10, 1900, at Colfax. She died on July 16, 1958.

Surviving are three sons, Marion, Peoria; Roleigh and Robert, Pekin; two daughters, Mrs. Wesley Dircks, Pekin; Mrs. Ethel Adams, East Peoria; one brother, Isam, Phoenix, Ariz; one sister, Mrs. Mildred Taylor, Springfield; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, a grandchild, one great-grandchild, three sisters and two brothers.

Mr. Travis was a member of the Modern Woodsmen of America. He came to Gridley in 1922 and worked as section foreman for the Toledo, Peoria and Estern Railroad until 1936. After that he was employed by the Hart Carter Company until retirement in 1955.
